Grace Ancira, LPC, Postdoctoral Fellow

One thing I believe deeply is that we’re more alike than different. Like many of my clients, I’ve had to sit with hard emotions, uncertainty, and the desire to feel understood. My love for this work comes from witnessing the healing power of deep human connection in therapy.

A common thing I hear in first sessions is, “I’ve tried everything, so I’m not sure this will help.” If that’s where you are, we’ll start there, with curiosity, clarity, and a plan that fits you.

I work primarily with adults (18+), including military members and veterans, and I often support people who are navigating trauma-related concerns, anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, perinatal stressors, and attention or focus concerns.

Areas I commonly help with include:

  • Trauma and trauma-related symptoms

  • Anxiety and feeling on edge

  • Depression

  • Insomnia and sleep disruption

  • Life stressors and adjustment concerns (including perinatal issues like postpartum depression/anxiety)

  • ADHD concerns and diagnostic clarity

What it’s like to work with me

I’m led by you and your goals, and I put a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I’ll always ask about what you’ve tried before, what you hope therapy will be like, and what has (or hasn’t) felt helpful in the past. Sessions often begin in a conversational way, and then we’ll move into a more skills-based approach so you leave with something you can actually use.

One thing that’s important to know about me: I’m exceptionally curious about what supports you might need outside of session, and I’m often very dedicated to helping clients identify and secure those resources. I’ve found that this communicates deep investment — and for many people, that’s part of what makes therapy feel different this time.

My approach

I use evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, and insomnia, including CBT, along with strengths-based approaches like Solution-Focused Therapy. When trauma is the focus, I follow evidence-based trauma protocols such as CPT, Prolonged Exposure (PE), and EMDR. I also provide clinical structured interviews and diagnostic testing, including ADHD evaluations.

One thing I believe deeply is that we’re more alike than different. Like many of my clients, I’ve had to sit with hard emotions, uncertainty, and the desire to feel understood. My love for this work comes from witnessing the healing power of deep human connection in therapy.

You might be a good fit for working with me if you:

  • Feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or emotionally disconnected

  • Are struggling with sleep and don’t know how to break the cycle

  • Want therapy that balances warmth and connection with concrete tools

  • Are ready to work through trauma in a structured, evidence-based way

  • Want clarity through assessment or ADHD evaluation

A little about me outside the therapy room

Most of my time outside of work is “mommy time” — being with my kids and family, exploring and having new experiences together. I also try to make time for movement and enjoy cycling, kickboxing, and running outside.
